Hebrew

For some time I have picked up my biblical Hebrew study. During my study of theology, I learned this special divine language in six months. This was under the inspiring leadership of Dr. Karel Vriezen. We learned the language using JP Lettinga's grammar. A lot had subsided. I now read daily to appreciate the beauty of this language.

There are many sites on the internet where you can learn Hebrew. On this page I share with you what I have found.

The English site of William D. Barrick is the most comprehensive course I have found. A textbook + workbook is available. You can also follow lectures via YouTube.

For beginners, I recommend using the PDF files from Talencentrum Barneveld. You can translate the first sentence of Genesis 22 within five lessons. The Language Center course is very comprehensive but not as systematic in structure.

The 12 lessons from the Israel and the Bible site is also recommended. Whoever has mastered these lessons has a solid foundation.

For those who want a summary from JP Lettinga.

On the link below is a very professional course for Bible Hebrew in Dutch. The course is unfortunately not finished. But the first ten lessons are very educational!
